Ray Loerch Mackey November 20,1925-July 30, 2010

Well my Papaw now has lung cancer to go along with all his other problems. They say God won't put too much on you that you can't handle. Well I think Kidney failure, Heart failure, Colon cancer and now Lung cancer is an awful lot. But he is still with us, just a little weak and now falls alot, sort of like me. I still don't walk, but I do push my walker around. I move fast too, Gammy can't let me alone one minute.

June Zoo Trip

We had a great time at the zoo. In one picture the Gorilla came up to the window and copped a pose for our picture. You can tell in my face I was surprised !!!!

63 rd. Anniversary

Dad made it till their anniversary and that is great.

Gammy said I will be the only man in her life. She's given up on finding one that will love her forever and not take time to think. Some people are so cruel, but she will get by without one.

Fathers Day 2010

What do you get for the father that has everything? Well this fathers day I wish I could give my heart to dad along with a kidney for good measure. But I can't and there are things in life we just can't change. So far dad has survived three wars, five wildass kids, 30 years in the Army and four by-pass surgery. Now he's trying to survive heart failure, kidney failure and colon cancer. He's a tough old bird who so far has outlasted every family member he's had by 43 years. Every hospital stay I learn a little more about him. Did you know when he retired as Command Sargent Major Ray L. Mackey he was the 82nd higest ranking man in the Army? Me either, but I've set and listened to so many great stories he would tell me, he's a walking history book. It's like that song by Montgomery Gentery, I'd set cross legged on the floor while he would tell his stories of the war. But we can't change dads outcome, only keep our memories and I have enough to write a book! I'm the one that spends the most time with him, even when I was young I knew I was his favorite son. That is what I feel like, I would watch sports with him and go to races with him. I had three brothers growing up, but I was the one that hung out with him. So if God could just do one thing for me, let me have one more Fathers day with my dad.See More

Poor Amby is still sick, don't know if she will pull through. I like the puppy best, but Gammy really loves her little kitty.

Papaw Not Doing Good.

My papaw isn't doing good, he is now 110 lbs. and in and out of the hospital. They will have there 63 anniversary on June 29th, lets hope papaw stays strong. He doesn't want to eat now, so the whole family is on pins and needles. I got to go visit him at the hospital, he has never seen me till then.

I just realized that was Mommy backing out and leaving me! That's OK I'm with Gammy and having fun !!!

Jacobs new word NO!!!!

The doctor said Mommy and them should start telling me no. I'm old enough now that I can understand. Well I gave Gammy a run for her money wednesday morning! But I'm so cute, how can you tell me NO!!!!????

Not even Summer yet and I'm chillin in the pool

I got to spend two days with Gammy and she let me swim. She took me shopping and of course I picked out a new toy. I get to have more fun tomorrow, Mommy said we might get to go to the Zoo with Gammy.

This is how I get around now and it's fun and fast. Would you believe I learned it from an adult? But I have done the real crawling at Gammies, about two feet worth! Soon I hope to pull up and walk away, even though my Mommy was walking at eight months. I don't feel like doing that, I love to be carried around!

Gammy made me a pool out of a blow up boat, it sure does the trick on these hot days.

Friends From Ohio

Gammy and mommies friends stopped by on their way back to ohio. We had a good visit and wished we could have spent more time with them. But they may be returning in the fall to Myrtle beach and I'll get to see them then. They are the Schmidts, in my John, Jacob, Jiggle Himmer Schmidt song you know!

Gammy got me this new bib, my Aunt Kelly loves turtles and this is the perfect bib for her!

John Deer

This is me in my John Deer tee shirt. Gammy bought it at Cracker Barrel for me and it fits good. Mommy likes me in tee shirts now cause I'm a big boy.

8 months

Wow, it's hard to believe that at the end of this week I'll be eight months old. Seems like just yesterday I got evicted out of mommy and into the real world. But time flies when your having fun!

I can stand real good now and Gammy let me look out the window while I held onto the couch. I think I may become a climber? Anyway I'm starting to do alot of new fun stuff now so they better keep a close eye on me!

Yeah, I spent the night at Gammies and slept all night till almost 8 this morning. She also made me a new Taggie and G donated the ribbons in pretty colors.

Seems it's not a very happy birthday after all. I did get a call from Risee and that's about it. Well I guess at my age birthdays aren't suppose to be big deals. I'm sure I'll have many more alone birthdays in the future since I have no one to share my life.

I went to my GG's 89th birthday party at the park Saturday. I had fun. mom and dad took me on a hike on a trail. This is me with my mom of course.
